Meeting on Flexi MoU held at Secretariat Conference Room in Shimla today under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Technical Education Minister, Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, various industry representatives were also invited to discuss the matter and to take their views on it. From Kaushal Vikas Nigam, Managing Director Smt. Kumad Singh, General Managers and Sector Specialist were present to apprise the guests about nigam’s activities and features of Flexi MoU. The department discussed the steps to be taken to facilitate the conduct of training program and necessary guidelines for the implementation of the program.
Smt. Kumad Singh discussed and informed about various benefits of Flexi MoU for both industries and trainees. This MoU provide flexibility to train candidates in Industry specific courses which may be NSQF or Non NSQF and Industries will also have the flexibility of selecting candidates for the trainings as per the need and requirements. Industry may also hire these candidates as apprentice with minimum duration of 6 months with stipend.
This MoU will also prove to be a boon for trainees as it enhance placement opportunities with better salaries which may be as apprentice or regular employee or on contract basis. This will also give access to Industry/Organisation with specific cutting-edge technology.
Dr Markanda expressed his views on trainee retention policy that needs to be improved by industries so that the potential work force may serve for a sizeable duration of time.
Industry representatives from various part of the country joined in for the discussion, companies like- Unitel Works Wireless Pvt. ltd., Teammas, ROM Computers, Leocoat, Plenary to name a few. This Employer/ Industry lead skills model will definitely help candidates to find path best suitable for their career.
